I love Almond Milk! It tastes great and is also super healthy, if it’s the right kind that is. Not all almond milk is created equal and often times when people buy almond milk at the store it’s not healthy at all. The reason it’s not healthy is that it’s full of unnecessary unhealthy ingredients like corn syrup. So I would recommend that you check the ingredients list before you buy it or you can just make my super simple and tasty almond milk at home 🙂
Making almond milk is super easy and tastes amazing! All you need is a cup of almond, water, vanilla extract and a pinch of salt(yeah I know it sounds strange to put salt in it but trust me it really makes it taste much better!)
So what you need to do is put a cup of almonds in a bowl and fill it with water. Put the bowl in a fridge for around 12 hours. After the almonds have been soaking in water for a while they should bulged and become more soft. Drain the water and put the almonds in a blender. Now add 3 cups of fresh water, a few drops of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Blend it all together for about 5 minutes.
Now you need to use ether a strainer or a cheesecloth and pour it through into a container. Voila! Now you have delicious and healthy almond milk!
The left over almonds can be used for many things like for example almond flour.
- 1 Cup Almonds
- 3 Cups water
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Pinch of Salt
