Matcha Latte Better than Starbucks
Want a hit of caffeine but wanna cut down on your coffee consumption. Matcha is a fantastic and healthier alternative and with Matcha Latte, you will get a great taste and a massive energy boost!
- 2 tsp Matcha powder
- 60 ml hot water
- 125 ml milk of choice (if you use oat milk make sure that it can foam)
- Sweetener of choice (if you want, I think it’s already so great that there is no need)
Boil the water and pour a little into the mug your going to use in order to heat it up
Make sure that the rest of the water is not warmer than 165° F or 75° C. If it is, just add a little bit of cold water. If the water is boiling it will scorch the matcha.
Pour the water out of the mug and dry
Put the matcha powder into the bowl, add 1 tbsp of hot water and stir, or whisk if you have a bamboo whisk (chasen). Whisk for up to 20 seconds until no lumps remain.
Stir the rest of the water and sweetener (if you are using a sweetener) until dissolved. Pour the matcha into your warm mug.
Heat the milk over medium heat just until it begins to boil, then be quick and froth using a milk frother.
Slowly pour the foamy milk into the mug with the matcha(and make a heart or a leaf if your can 🙂
